Stitching support for Creemore’s food bank
Creemore House of Stitches has two campaign on the go in support of St. Luke’s Community Food Bank.
Knitters and crocheters are being recruited for Operation Bubbles and Sudz. Each participants is asked to use one ball of Sudz dishcloth cotton (no substitutions please) to make two dishcloths, either knitted or crocheted, a minimum of six inches square. Bring the completed dishcloths back to the store to be donated and receive a 20 per cent discount on your next purchase of a ball of Sudz as a thank you for your donation.
For what is dubbed Operation Too Hot to Handle, quilters are also being called upon to make two potholders in matching sets. Creemore House of Stitches owner Cheryl Robertson is supplying squares of Insulbright for each set. (Quilt cotton only please, no poly fabric)
The deadline for both projects is Nov. 30 with the goal of including them in the St. Luke’s Community Food Bank holiday packages. The dishcloths will be packaged with a bottle of dish soap to be distributed to about 60 households, along with the potholders.
Participants are asked to register with Creemore House of Stitches in person at 3 Caroline St. W. Suite 3, or by calling 705-466-6363. For more information visit, www. creemorequiltsandyarns.ca.
