Impaired driver strikes hydro pole
Police have charged an impaired driver after striking a hydro pole, causing two vehicles to sustain damage.
On August 1, at about 11:20 p.m., police received a report of a single vehicle collision on Centre Line Road just north of Warrington Road in the Township of Clearview. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle in the northbound ditch, having collided with a hydro pole, then a tree.
The hydro pole was down across the road, which caused two other vehicles to sustain damage after striking the pole.
Officers spoke with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle involved in the initial collision. The accused was transported to the hospital by EMS for minor injuries and has since been released.
As a result of the investigation, Janna Sproule, 53-year-old of Collingwood, has been charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). The driver’s licence was suspended and the vehicle was impounded. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Sept. 3.
