Suddenly while travelling through Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Ken Awender at 60 years of age. Loving husband of Anne Marie Awender (nee Stevenson). Cherished father of Madison (Adam). Beloved son of Frank Awender and the late Doreen (Patricia) Awender (nee Murray). Dear brother of Doug Awender (Lorie). Son-in-law of Kendra and Edward Gordon Stevenson. Brother-in-law of Elaine Abram (Christopher) and chosen brother of John Jakab. Also missed by extended family and numerous friends. Cremation with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Keeler Centre in Colborne. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Fire Fighters Museum.
