A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 29, at 2 p.m. at St. Jude’s Anglican Church, 160 William St, Oakville, ON L6J 1C5.
Emma was born in Toronto, Canada, and grew up in the Lorne Park neighborhood of Mississauga before moving to Oakville. She is survived by her parents, Jim and Melissa Doherty; her sister, Nina Doherty; her son, Gavin James; and partner, Nicholas Lister. Emma was predeceased by her brother, James Gavin.
Emma passed away peacefully, having requested that her body be donated to the Trillium Gift of Life. Her extraordinary contributions include saving five lives through organ donation, a testament to her selflessness and spirit. With her rare B-type blood and vital organs donated, Emma’s legacy as a hero will continue.
