PSW named age-friendly champion
Gertrude King was among the individuals and businesses recognized at the County of Simcoe’s second annual Age-Friendly Recognition Awards on Jan. 28, celebrating the achievements of those who have taken significant steps to create inclusive, age-friendly communities.
King, a former Creemore resident, now lives in Wasaga Beach. She has been a personal support worker for the past 20 years, active in long-term care, retirement, and palliative care settings. She serves the Wasaga Beach community as co-chair of the Age Friendly Community Action Committee.

The program boosts awareness of Simcoe County’s aging population and helps businesses and organizations enhance their environments and services to better suit the needs of older adults across the region.
