RITCHIE, Jacqueline Helen – Jackie (Jacqueline) Ritchie passed away surrounded by family entering her 89th year at Hillcrest Village Care Centre in Midland on Feb. 23, 2025. Jackie was married to the love of her life, Stanley Ritchie, for 61 years. She was a loving and caring mother to David, Eunice Pandolfi (Robert) Vaillancourt, Bruce (Carolyn), and Denise (Robert) McLean. The devoted Grandma to Jason, Nicole, Zachary, Emily, Nathaniel, Kaden, and Meghan. Jackie is survived by her sister Marilyn (Allan) Buie and late Ada (survived by Wayne) Weatherall. She was predeceased by her parents David “Sherlock” and Marjorie Metheral. She will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Dollie (late Terry Moulden), the late Grant (survived by Dianne). She will be greatly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, friends and customers.
Jackie was known for her smile and generosity. She cared for the community of Elmvale and enjoyed involving herself in Presbyterian Church groups, knitting dolls for fire departments, Saurin Women’s Institute, Lioness Member, Cubs and Scouts Leader, Rebekahs, Curling, Elmvale Figure Skating Club and coaching Elmvale Hockey. She was a loving wife, a loyal sister, and owner of Ritchies Feeds N’ Needs and Garden Centre. Her greatest joy in her life was her children and grandchildren. Many people in the community had a special relationship with Jackie and may have been able to join her in dancing and playing cards.
A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025 at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home.
A service will be held for Jackie on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Elmvale Presbyterian Church. You may also view the service via YouTube by searching Elmvale PC (@elmvalepc2691).
Cremation with interment will take place at the Elmvale Cemetery at a later date.
Jackie’s family would like to thank all the nurses at Hillcrest Village Care Centre for their exceptional care, support and love.
