PLATTS, Herbert Samuel – With love, we share that Herbert (Bud) Platts passed away peacefully on Friday May 16, 2025, at the William Osler Brampton Civic Hospital at the age of 98. A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bud, a long-time resident of Bramalea, lived a long, full, and to the end, an independent life filled with dedication, humour, and love for his family. Bud was a 40-year retired master electrician for Canadian General Electric. He enjoyed numerous outdoor activities and had a sustained attraction for Wasaga Beach, which dated back to his early life growing up in Stayner. He enjoyed watching sports, particularly hockey and football, while indulging in and enjoying the occasional pint or two. Lovingly remembered by his son, Herbert (Bud) Jr. (Mai), his daughters, Robyn (Les), Lynn (Darryl); affectionately known to his granddaughters as Grampie, Megan (Goran), Katie (Spyros), Lyndsay (Christian), Samantha (Matt), Jennifer and great-grandchildren, Mia, Ava, Wesley, and Alexander. Bud is reunited with his wife, Doris, his mom, dad (Grace and Samuel), and his 6 siblings. We will undoubtedly miss his lively demeanour and unmistakable hearty laugh. May Bud now rest peacefully. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. A private family service is being held for Bud; however, a date for a celebration of life will be announced. In place of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army. To sign Bud’s Book of Memories, please visit www.carruthersdavidson.com
