Event raises $271,000 for Hospice
Hike and Bike for Hospice Georgian Triangle held on Sunday, May 25 raised $271,000 to support hospice palliative care for patients with life-limiting illnesses, and their families. The 2025 annual Hike and Bike for Hospice was the biggest yet with over 713 participants who hiked and biked the trails of Collingwood, ensuring the programs and services of Hospice Georgian Triangle are provided at no cost to patients and families.
Participants hiked 6 km or biked 6 km / 20 km. The event kicked off at the Collingwood Curling Club with a sendoff from the Beinn Gorm Highlanders, and travelled through the Collingwood trails and along the shore of Georgian Bay. At the finish line there wasmusic and entertainment provided by DJ Nation, and vintage cars from the Wasaga Beach Cruisers were on display.
On the leaderboard for fundraising was Myke Dyer, personal support worker with Hospice Georgian Triangle. Myke raised an impressive $4,160.
Team fundraising was a highlight this year, with the Collingwood Curlers Care team raising more than $37,000, and Margot’s Motivators a close second at just over $20,500. Both team’s funds will be matched by Given to Fly Charitable Trust, doubling their impact. Donations will be accepted until June 15 via hgtfoundation.com.
