Gouveia, Sherry (nee Sim) passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie on Tuesday, Aug. 4 in her 69th year. Beloved wife of Carlos Gouveia. Loved mother of Elizabeth (Michael) and Kevin (Shannon). Dear sister of Lawrie, Nancy and David. Sherry’s time here was devoted to caring for others, her children and their friends, and later caring for her husband through a difficult disease progression. Her own battle with cancer occurring simultaneously with her husband’s increasing illness. She fought long and hard to stay with us, and keep us safe, despite unknowable hardships and pain. Sherry will be greatly missed by her grand fur babies Estelle, Sheena, Magnus, Marvin and Luci-fur. Sherry will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends.
