Steer, Patricia April 29, 1948 – Aug. 6, 2026. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Patricia Ann Steer (nee Richards) of Creemore, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, teacher, friend and valued member of her community. Patricia was the devoted mother of Katharine (Kate) Steer Ceccarelli and her husband, Darryl Ceccarelli, and Cameron and his wife, Bianca, and a proud grandmother of Victoria, Elizabeth, Alexander and Riley. She is also remembered by her brother, Grahame Richards and his wife, Lois, and her niece and nephew, Amy and Michael, as well as by her extended family and many dear friends. Family was at the heart of Patricia’s life. She treasured the people she loved, and when she made friends, they often became closer than family. Patricia was born in England. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph and her Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. She returned to Nelson High School, this time as a teacher, where she spent 31 years teaching Science and Family Studies. Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love, learning, service, friendship and community. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, former students, colleagues and all who had the privilege of knowing her. A service of remembrance will be held at St. John’s United Church in Creemore on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at 1 p.m. In keeping with Patricia’s generous spirit, she was a registered donor through Trillium Gift of Life. In Patricia’s memory, please consider registering as an organ and tissue donor or signing your donor card. Donations may also be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation or the Canadian Cancer Society in her memory.
