Library hosts Crayola Day Party on PA Day Friday

 In Community

It’s another PA Day here in Clearview Township and we at the Clearview Public Library have a fun- filled day planned for Friday, Jan. 30 with super special programs and activities in Creemore (10 a.m. to 11 a.m.), New Lowell (2 p.m. to 3 p.m.) and Stayner (11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).

In recognition of the 51st annual Winterama next weekend, we are making special buttons and crafting penguins as decorations for the event. From 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., something very special is happening in the Stayner branch with the livestream broadcast of the Crayola Day Party! No registration required, just drop in.

This is also a good time to sign up for the St. John Ambulance courses taking place on Friday, March 20. We are presenting our ever popular Babysitter Course (ages 10.5 to 15 years) from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for $75 and the Home Alone (ages 8 to 10.5 years) from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for $65 in the Stayner Community Centre hall. Registration is required and the deadline for payment is on Wednesday, March 11 by 8 p.m. Cash or cheque payments accepted (cheques payable to Clearview Public Library). For more details, please email ehamerton@clearview.ca.

We have had a special request about availability of old maps of our surrounding area (specifically a 20-mile circumference around Creemore). What do you have in your attic or basement that you would be willing to share with us? Please contact mmckenzie@clearview.ca or leave a message at one of our three circulation desks.

Please join Natasha Rolling (our children’s programmer) and Michele McKenzie (deputy CEO) on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the New Lowell branch as we participate in the fun of Winterama. We will be offering a full line-up of family friendly craft activities, a quiet space corner as well as a warming station and a diaper changing location.
