More than maple syrup at Spring Tonic festival
The Spring Tonic Maple Syrup Festival returns to Tiffin Conservation Area April 11-12 promising outdoor fun, hands-on activities, and fresh maple syrup. Admission includes a pancake and sausage breakfast, served with locally made maple syrup. Throughout the day, visitors can explore both historic and modern maple syrup production, gaining a deeper appreciation for this iconic Canadian tradition. Interactive animal exhibits, dog agility demonstrations and scenic tractor wagon rides through the forest are among visitors’ favourite activities.
Live music provides a lively backdrop, while local firefighters add to the welcoming, community-focused atmosphere. For those looking to enhance their visit, optional activities are available for an additional fee, including bird box building, maple taffy tasting, and the opportunity to purchase maple syrup produced at Tiffin Conservation Area.
“For more than 30 years, Spring Tonic has brought the community together to celebrate the sights, sounds, and flavours of the season,” said Kyra Howes, director of conservation services at the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority. “The event is made possible through a strong partnership with the Rotary Club of Barrie, whose dedicated volunteers play a key role in organizing and delivering the festival experience. From preparing meals to hosting activity stations, their contributions help create a memorable day for all.”
“All proceeds from the festival support both the continued care and enhancement of Tiffin Conservation Area and the Rotary Club of Barrie’s many community initiatives,” added Darren Robinson, chairperson of the Spring Tonic Maple Syrup Festival at the Rotary Club of Barrie. “These include contributions to local organizations and services such as Royal Victoria Hospital, YMCA, affordable housing projects, and other programs that strengthen communities across Simcoe County.”
Tiffin Conservation Area, operated by the Nottawaaga Valley Conservation Authority is located at 8195 8th Line, Utopia.
