Beware and be cautious on Blue Monday

 In Events

This day is not only Blue Monday but the Full Moon (also known as the Wolf Moon.) Bruce the Library Shark recommends these actions to prevent the Grumble-Grizzles which seem to be a re-occurring condition in this time of pandemic and plague.

Bruce says, read: He recommends The Stranger in the Lifeboat by Mitch Albom; The Devil’s Sea (A Dirk Pitt Novel) by Dirk Cussler; and/or An Accidental Odyssey (An Ex Libris Adventure) by KC Dyer.

These books can be found on our new release shelf and available for curbside pick-up by calling the Creemore Branch (705-466-3011) and the Stayner Branch (705-428-3595). Our New Lowell branch’s telephone line is a problem that is a work in progress to fix. Please email sunnidalebranch@clearview.ca to contact this location. Contact your local branch from Wednesday to Saturday for assistance and to arrange a curbside pick-up time slot.

Bruce says, watch a movie: Gather the family and spend some time viewing Shark Tale by Dreamworks; Great Barrier Reef by BBC Earth; and/or Deep Sea featuring our favourite Red Octopus by IMAX.

Bruce says, craft: The Wee Too (ages preschool and JK), KAP (Grades SK-2) and ASK (Grades 3-5) activity kits are available by registering on our website (www.clearview.library.on.ca) under the “all events”

by the 20th of the month to receive the kit for the following month.

The Saturday Morning Club (Facebook and Kit) hits cyberspace on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. These weekly activity kits are showcasing the various animals that can be found in our Crocheted Coral Reef for the next several weeks. The Cephalopod Scavenger Hunt featuring our 21 octopuses has been postponed until we reopen for

general admission. For more details about our Pen Pal & Book Reviewer Programs for Community Service Hours, please email teenlibrarian@clearview.ca.

Bruce says, attend a virtual event: Author Michael Posner will be talking about his book featuring Leonard Cohen/Untold Stories via Zoom on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. Register by emailing publicprogramming@clearview.ca to book your free ticket to this presentation by the Simcoe Author Talk Series.

Prevent the Grumble-Grizzles with a little help from your friendly librarian staff at the Clearview Public Library. Bruce has received multiple compliments about our superb Readers’ Advisory Service and we are here to hopefully suggest the perfect book, movie, crafting activity or virtual event for you as an effective boredom buster and as an antidote for Blue Monday’s vibes.
