Bolton and New Lowell meet in NDBL final

 In Sports

The Bolton Brewers and New Lowell Knights have advanced to the North Dufferin Baseball League championship to start this Saturday.
Bolton finished first overall in regular season play, defeating Mansfield and Barrie in the first two rounds of playoffs to solidify their spot in the finals.
New Lowell’s season record was good enough for a second place finish. The Knights beat Ivy and Creemore in two playoff matches en route to the championship round.
This year’s championship series is a rematch of the 2019 series and the last time the Strother Cup was awarded. The Knights took the crown in five games.
In a normal season the finals are a best of seven series but with the delayed start this season a shorter time frame was needed. This year the championship series will be a best of five affair with games being played on weekends.
First weekend action will have the Knights visit the Brewers on Saturday at 1 p.m. followed by Game 2 at New Lowell on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The full schedule is available on the league’s website, ndbl.ca.
