Earl J. Bonner – With family by his side, Earl passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in his 81st year. Earl will be missed by his life partner Catherine Harper, stepson Craig (Betty Vavougios) and his brother Murray (Mary) Bonner. He will live on in the hearts of his daughters Colleen (Serge Medeiros), Kim Healey, Sonya, Tammy (Kelly Fensel) and Jennifer (Al Beaudin) and be forever cherished by his 11 grandchildren, Sarah and Nicki Medeiros, Cierra and Alicia Healey, Tyler and Matthew Honsinger, Ashley Fensel, Heather Beaudin, Aidan Bonner and Elenee and Russell Harper. He is predeceased by his daughter Robin and his parents Joseph and Isobel (Creary). Also missing him is his first wife Shirley Bonner and his many nieces and nephews. Earl was born and raised in Creemore, Ontario where he lived with his mother Isobel, as he ventured out when he got older he made his way to Hamilton to find a job at Stelco and remained there until he retired with 38 years of service. A longtime member of Mt. Hamilton United Church. Earl enjoyed his retirement being able to travel with Catherine to many destinations around the world. He enjoyed square dancing with the Hamilton Steel City Square Dancers. His biggest joy was his family and all of the family gatherings, making and sharing memories and working on his family tree. He’s up above finally getting to listen to the real stories from those who have gone before him. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church, 479 Upper Paradise, Hamilton. Funeral service will take place at St. John’s United Church, 192 Mill Street, Creemore on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Creemore Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Tree Society of Creemore or the Creemore Union Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
