Change of plans, library curbside continues

 In Community

Although we are not opening our doors to the public as promised in last week’s issue of The Creemore Echo, we are still here at the three branches and working to enrich your leisure hours.
In compliance with the province’s shutdown regulations, our branches will continue to be closed for public admittance for the next four weeks. Our thriving curbside and virtual services will continue but we are so looking forward to seeing you in person later this spring.
The CPL’s Mega Activity Kits of Spring Break Fun will be available to pick up curbside on a first come-first served basis until April 17. These kits include three crafts including one each of an artistic, baking and gardening activity that is age appropriate. Look for the proper age category on the label.
Our new CPL’s Saturday Morning Clubhouse will be offered via our Facebook page at 10:30 a.m. starting Saturday, April 10, for 13 weeks. We are very proud to have teamed up with the Kingston Symphony to officially present their wonderful musical program featuring Harmon who must land her spaceship by finding the perfect piece of music. These short videos will introduce various musical instruments (this week: the flute) for the enjoyment of the whole family. Right after this, we are presenting the Art for Kids Hub which highlights line-by-line instruction in these fun and kid-friendly videos (this week: The Cat in the Box). Please consider this your invitation to spend a half hour with “us” on a Saturday morning or whenever at your convenience to learn something new. For other weekly programs, please google www.clearview.library.on.ca.
Does your child like to colour as a form of relaxation? Please remember that the CPL’s Paper Bag Princess colouring contest ends on Saturday, April 17 at 4 p.m. Call 705-466-3011 (Creemore), 705-424-6288 (New Lowell) and/or 705-428-3595 (Stayner) to reserve your Paper Bag Princess activity kit or just pick one up at the foyer door where all the kits are located.
If you want to find out what is happening around the world by perusing local news at various hotspots of activity, investigate the new PressReader App now available with your valid library card. This app provides access to free eNewspapers and eMagazines around the world. Contact your local branch by phone or Facebook for more details if you require assistance to access this site.
Last but not least for this mid-April Spring Break, join us in our challenge to spread positivity and good vibes by sharing a virtual high five with a friend or coloring our CPL high five sheet to display in your home window for others to see. It is the smallest of gestures that sometimes make the biggest impact to keep hope alive.
