Clearview Soccer Club takes on ladies’ league

 In Sports

Clearview Soccer Club has started a new ladies’ league, with 60 players on four teams taking to the field in New Lowell each Tuesday.
Mallorie Reid said they were approached by the Wasaga Beach women’s soccer club because they were disbanding so many of the players were looking for another local option. She said many are in the Creemore and New Lowell area.
They were able to get the new league up and running in about four weeks.
“We knew that it would be a lot of work to get it rolling but we all agreed that it would be an effort that would pay off for the local community,” said Reid.
There are games every Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The club has also seen growth in its youth soccer program. It organizes 120 youth on 14 teams as part of its regular intramural program. Players can start at age four, or the year they are turning four. They have players up to age 10 but are hoping to expand to age 12-14. Team sponsorships are available.
Registration for next year will begin in December.
