Clearview Ukrainian Relief and Refugee Support fundraiser continues

 In Community

A local fundraiser for the Clearview Ukrainian Relief and Refugee Support fund has raised almost $9,000 so far. Much of it was raised during the April 2 fundraiser organized by Jim Slattery, featuring Second World War Ukrainian refugee Andrew Melnyk, attended by 60 people. The campaign was launched in reponse to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Funds are being funnelled through to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, which is helping to support refugees coming to Canada. Melnyk’s story is documented in his book My Father’s Mill. Copies are now available at the library and at Curiosity House Books.
