Creemore 11U’s power past Owen Sound, Brampton

Finishing up their exhibition season prior to the start of the Baseball Ontario championship tournament, Creemore took on the Owen Sound Hawks on August 5.
For only the second time this season the team found themselves in a tight game, with Owen Sound leading 5-3 after the first two innings.
The Creemore bats would come alive; however, eventually winning 16-5, led by Cooper Duits who picked up two hits including a triple to lead off the fourth inning.
Creemore had their best defensive game of the year so far, with Ryan Keba making two key plays in the field to shut down a potential rally.
On August 8 and 9, the team started the 2021 championship tournament with a home-and-home series with the Brampton Royals.
In game one Thomas Weldon dominated on the mound for four innings giving up only one hit, no walks and striking out 10. Logan Senay hammered a two-run triple to centre field in the fifth inning securing the mercy as Creemore won 11-1. The player of the game; however, was Brayden Foulds who thrilled the hometown fans by blasting a two-out home run on to George Street in the third inning before coming in to pitch and striking out the side in the fifth.
In Brampton on Monday night the squad continued their hard-hitting ways by routing the Royals 15-3. Three pitchers combined for the win, while Keenan Reynolds and Ben Clouthier both homered.
The team will travel to Sudbury this weekend for two games with the Sudbury Shamrocks and one with the Sault St. Marie Black Sox.
