Creemore Christmas Stroll: How to participate

 In Events, Visit Creemore

Organizers of the Creemore Christmas Stroll, a substitute for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, have finalized further details for the Dec. 4 activity at Station on the Green.
At 4:50 p.m. that evening, the tree will be lit up by Scott Duffin, who has volunteered to string the lights on the tree. Later that evening, the community is invited to stroll by to enjoy its splendour.
Due to pandemic protocols and restrictions there will be controlled access and limited capacity so registration is required by e-mail at tsocinfo@gmail.com before Wednesday, Dec. 2. Appointments are available between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., with eight separate 15-minute sign-up periods for up to 25 people.
Participants will begin at the east entrance to the parking lot. At all times, people will be socially distanced. Family bubbles will be allowed to travel together to a number of different stations to pick up food and drink vouchers, a Christmas ornament for each child, a wayfinding map of different home displays throughout the township, ending with a walk by the lit tree out to the street.
Participants are encouraged to bring donations of toys to be distributed to those in need by County of Simcoe Paramedics. They are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations for the Creemore firefighters’ food drive, to be placed on their fire wagon.
For those not wishing to participate in the stroll, donations will be accepted between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
The vouchers will be for one slice of pizza per person from either Pizza Perfect or Creemore Pizza Co. The drink voucher will indicate either Affairs Catering (hot chocolate) or Bank Cafe (hot cider).
Participants are asked to follow all health protocols. One member for each group should collect the food to avoid crowding around these stores. The food and drink venues will be open from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. only for voucher redemption as they will also be running their regular businesses.
Groups will not be allowed indoors in these venues.
Only those who have signed up through tsocinfo@gmail.com will be allowed entrance.
