DICKEY, Betty – September 18, 1930 – March 2, 2021. Betty Dickey beloved wife of Thomas James Dickey of Calgary Alta passed away March 2. 2021. Betty was born in Sunnidale Township on September 18, 1930. She was one of ten raised by Fred and Gertie Prosser. Betty and Jim were married in 1951. They lived in Stayner and then they were transferred to Calgary in 1959. Betty was a charter member of the Friendship Chapter of the order of the Eastern Star and passed Queen of Sakkara Temple No 115 Daughters of the Nile. She was also a great “MOM” to many of the Order of Demolay and Jobs Daughters. Betty had a great love for baking, knitting and sewing but her favorite was making quilts for the Shiners Children’s Hospital. Betty won an award for a family heirloom quilt in Calgary. Besides her husband Jim , Betty is survived by her son David, daughter Anne, son-in- law Dean, grandchildren Lindsay (Travis), Mark, Jessica (Sean), John (Alex), her two of her great grandsons, Sisters June Cuculick, Anne Hanna, brother-in-law’s Jim Hanna, Forbes Neale, sister-in-law Mary Prosser, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Fred and Gertie Prosser and Siblings Ross, Ted , Keith (Sam) , Helen , Bill, Richard (Dick) and Mae. Even with distance between many family Betty was close and loved by all. Cremation has taken place and Interment will be held at Stayner Union Cemetery at a later date.
