The GTHS Walkathon is a virtual fundraiser that runs July 31 to August 6. The events culminate at Tails of the Mountain Dog Festival with a celebration walk at 1pm on August 6. Thousands of people and their pets are anticipated to be in attendance – it will be an event to remember.

With homeless animals entering the animal shelter daily, the GTHS is running a campaign seeking community champions to raise funds for local fundraiser. The GTHS Walkathon is in its 10th year, and it is the most important fundraiser the humane society runs. As the local population expands, requests for veterinary and surrender services are higher than ever before. Housing and food insecurity are impacting pets too, often leaving pet owners frantic to find support. The GTHS Walkathon ensures the Humane Society has the resources to support 1500 homeless pets and 3000 vulnerable people in the community.
