Flag raising marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

 In Community

November is Woman Abuse Prevention Month and Clearview Township will raise the purple courage flag on Nov. 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, at the Emergency Hub on Highway 26 in Stayner at the request of My Friend’s House shelter for women and children. The shelter which services all of South Georgian Bay wants the local community to know that My Friend’s House is there for women in their moment of courage and helps them move forward with a life free of violence. But the courage of the woman is not enough to protect her and her family. It takes the courage of an entire community. The community is invited to join the #ChampionsofCourage monthly giving program at championsofcourage.ca.
