Focus on job creation, not job constraint

Editor:
I wanted to comment on your article about the Official Plan and Matt Playne’s business, AutoSolve.
First, Matt is a first class mechanic who has helped me several times with my idiosyncratic and ancient automobile.
He understands client service as well as automobiles. Perhaps it has passed by the planning department in Clearview, but this new world of post-COVID-19 is going to require a much more flexible attitude to almost all regulation, including zoning.
Matt has a good and growing business and should not have to spend his time and money on nonsense like this.
His business is located on an old waste facility – what else do you think is going to go in there?
And with respect to the glowing image of residential going in all around Matt, have a look at the Alliance property to see how long it can take for development to happen.
So leave Matt alone. Go think about how you can add to jobs in the area, not constrain them.
Alan Hibben,
Mulmur.
