 In Obituaries

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Lois Gail Henderson (nee Siddall) lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2022, at the Tomkins House Hospice in Penetanguishene Ontario. We want to thank her doctors Kent Russell, Dr. Fredrick Yoon, and Dr. Jackie Lai for the outstanding care they provided to Gail as she bravely battled small cell cancer over the past four years. Gail spent her final days at Tomkins House Hospice where Gail received kind and loving care beyond words of thanks. Those that knew Gail will remember her as a loving, kind, and generous person. Gail left a positive impression on everyone she met – consistent with the positive, optimistic way she conducted her life. Gail was an inspiration, role model, advisor, and friend for many and she will be remembered for her warmth and welcoming nature. Gail is predeceased by parents Oliver Siddall and Hazel Hartt, and sister Linda Blaney. She is survived by her partner Charles Robert (Bob) Simmons, son Trevor Henderson and partner Claudette Martin, step-son David Simmons and wife Vanessa, step-daughter Peggy-Jane Shields and husband Jeff. Gail was also the proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren Neil and Elinor Henderson, Dax and Alessa Simmons, and Carson and Rylan Shields. We are extremely grateful to have had Gail in our lives as long as we did. Gail was born on June 27, 1946, she was in her 75th year. Planning for a Celebration of Life is currently underway, and we will pass along more details shortly. In memory of Gail, donations can be made to Hospice Huronia Tomkins House.
