Jet funds better spent on healthcare

Editor:

Having spent the last 10-plus years as the wife of a patient undergoing medical treatment, I have complete respect and admiration for our doctors, nurses and frontline EMS workers. They do amazing work even though they have been underfunded for years.

Just this week a tragedy occurred wherein a 37-year-old mother-of-three died at hospital while trying to access medical care. In the same week an announcement was made that the federal government has decided to spend billions of dollars on F35 fighter jets.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to use that money to expand and improve our medical system? Timely intakes and surgeries at hospital would probably save more Canadian lives, dollar for dollar, in the long run.
