The second annual online version of Annual IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s is taking place between now and May 30.
The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County (ASSC) is raising money to support persons living with dementia, one of the most pressing health care issues of our time, affecting at least 10,006 residents in Simcoe County.
ASSC is calling out to supporters to take part in the annual IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s – Walk 10,006 Steps With Us for 10,006 people in Simcoe County living with dementia.
All funds raised will stay in the community to support the delivery of counselling, support groups, education and social recreational programs to persons living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, their families and care partners.
The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s is the Alzheimer Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Thanks to the generosity and determination of Simcoe County residents taking part each year, the walk raises almost $75,000 annually to provide much needed services in the community.
“We want to make this year our biggest and best walk yet. Let’s join together to show how much we care,” said ASSC CEO Debbie Islam.
Registration is now open at alzheimersimoecounty.ca.
ASSC has been serving this region since 1985 to ensure people living with dementia get the care and services they need to improve their quality of life. ASSC is one of 29 local Alzheimer Societies in Ontario providing support services, education, public awareness, and social recreational programs to persons living with dementia, their care partners, families, and the public at large.
