Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are walking the Bruce Trail in support of homeless veterans. The Road to Recovery trek began in Tobermory on July 4 and will end 35 days later at the Bruce Trail South Terminus Cairn on August 7. Hikers will be fed and housed at various Legion Branches along the route. Twelve hikers arrived at the Creemore Branch on Friday, July 22, where they were served dinner and sheltered for the night before being served breakfast and continuing on their trek. Donations to help homeless vets can be dropped off at The Creemore Echo, 3 Caroline St. W., payable to the Creemore Legion Branch R2R.
