Library holding vote on branch name

Clearview Public Library is considering a name change for its Sunnidale branch, located in New Lowell, and they want community input.
Library officials are asking the public to cast a vote for one of two names. Should the Sunnidale moniker be retained or should it be changed to the New Lowell branch.
Vote this weekend during Sunnidale Winterama by placing a sticker on posters in the Sunnidale branch of the library or at the New Lowell Legion. Ballots are also available at the library’s circulation desk and an online survey is available at www.clearview.library.on.ca. Voting will close on Feb. 29.
Back in 1994 when the Township of Clearview was created through amalgamation, the Sunnidale branch was named to honour the many years of library service provided by Sunnidale Township Public Library.
“In 2020 as Council and the Clearview Public Library Board move forward on implementing their branding strategies, it is time to revisit the name of this important community hub,” said Clearview Public Library deputy CEO Michele McKenzie.
