Looking for a way to stretch your entertainment dollars over this March Break?

The ultimate boredom-buster otherwise known as the second annual Mega-March Break Kit will be available starting Saturday, March 12 at 10 a.m. at the Creemore, New Lowell and Stayner Branches of the Clearview Public Library.

These free and interactive kits have been designed by the children’s and youth’s librarians to amuse and entertain everyone in your family over the this holiday.

There will also be daily activity kits for Wednesday (Oceanography), Thursday (St. Patrick’s Day) and Friday (All Sorts) that will feature various aspects of your library’s collection. All kits will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration is required. We do recommend that you pop in early during each day to your favourite library branch to make sure that you get your kits.

Library staff are making an extra special effort to showcase all of our newest book titles and different types of story presentations this week too.

Saturday, March 17 is our Demo Day where we will be introducing our brand-new Pop Up Library for those that like to read books on their electronics. This will take place in the Stayner Branch and then rotate to Creemore and New Lowell over the next two weeks.

At this time, take a moment to check out our PlayAways, LaunchPads and Wonderbooks print plus enhanced media presentations. These are great for junior patrons who like to push buttons.

At this time, our programs continue to be offered virtually and curbside service still remains available but our fingers are crossed that this will change back to pre-pandemic in-house programming in the very near future.

Happy March Break!

Michele McKenzie is deputy CEO of Clearview Public Library.
