Lions host speech contest

 In Community

On Feb. 20, student speakers and their families gathered for the Stayner Lions Club’s annual Effective Speaking Competition.
Those competing in this event were all winners at their local schools and after listening to their presentations, so club members and their Partners in Service guests were all looking forward to hearing their presentations.
We were not disappointed as we listened to a wide variety of subjects delivered in a confident and energetic manner.
Congratulations to all the competitors and to winners, Ivy Foubert, Nottawa Elementary School (junior category) and Hallie Richardson, Admiral Collingwood Elementary School (senior category).
All competitors receive a cash award and the two winners will be going on to compete at the Lions District Effective Speaking Competition.
