Locals switch operations to make hand sanitizer

 In Business

Creemore residents Robert Burnaccioni and Jennifer Garrison have been making hand sanitizer, which they are selling, but also donating to local businesses, fire departments, nursing homes and more.
“There is absolutely no hand sanitizer in this province and that is what everybody is demanding. We already do bottling so it fits our criteria,” said Garrison. “People have been very appreciative. They’re very thankful.”
Their company, 416 Vapes, manufactures e-liquid for electronic cigarettes. Seeing a shortage of hand sanitizer they used their Barrie facility to bottle some, using a recipe that incorporates two of the ingredients in the e-liquid, being vegetable glycerine and propylene glycol.
They just had to source the isopropyl alcohol, but the supply is limited.
“We are trying to spread it out. That’s why we have a limit of four per person… we’re trying to help as many people as possible,” said Garrison.
She said they have registered with the government as a producer but they don’t yet know if that will help them source more alcohol. In the meantime they will produce as much as they can.
