McCleary, Richard Albert

 In Obituaries

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Richard Albert McCleary, age 74, passed peacefully and unexpectedly in his home in Avening surrounded by his family. The loving husband of Kathy (nee Cunningham). A proud father of daughter Alison (Steve) and son Robert (Alana). A devoted grandfather of Caitlin, Wyatt, Katsandra, Loeto and Malachy. The son of Lillian and Albert (both deceased). The uncle of Jennifer and Jessica and the brother of Roger (Zib). The father figure of his nephew Jean Paul (deceased), and the brother in law of Beth. A dedicated nephew of Do (deceased). A friend to many.

Richard grew up in Toronto. He married his lovely wife in 1972 and together they built McCleary’s Antiques. They lived in Montreal, Cookstown, Avening and Meaford. He loved to travel and had a great fondness of the ocean. He lived life to the fullest with enthusiasm. He is already missed by the people he left behind who love him dearly. He will be cremated and laid to rest in Queensville later this year. In lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation – Transplant and Kidney Care Centre. Friends may visit Richard’s online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com

My deepest condolences to his family. I will miss our chats about baseball at the Library when he visited. I’m so saddened to hear this news.
