Mulmur councillor moves from riding, vacates seat

 In News

Ken Cufaro has resigned from Mulmur council, leaving a vacancy that is to be filled by appointment.

“By way of this email this is to inform you I am no longer a resident of Mulmur Township and therefore no longer eligible to remain on Mulmur Council,” wrote Cufaro on May 19.

Council has determined it will appoint someone to fill the vacancy for the rest of the council term ending Nov. 14, rather than holding a bi- election.

Interested candidates may submit the necessary paperwork, in person with identification, by 2 p.m. on June 29 at the Township Administrative Office. See mulmur.ca for the required forms.

Certified registered Candidates will be afforded the opportunity to address council for a period of not more than five minutes and will be asked to answer council’s questions at the July 6 meeting.

Candidates must be a resident of the township, or an owner or tenant of land in the township, or the spouse of such an owner or tenant, be 18 or older and a Canadian citizen.
