Nottawa Elementary School participated in the Coldest Night of the Year last month. The Nottawa Nighthawks Shelter Squad raised nearly $4,400 for Collingwood Home Horizon’s Barbara Weider House youth shelter, surpassing their goal of $1,500. Students are also learning about homelessness, budgeting, and housing struggles to help them understand the significance and importance of the Coldest Night of the Year initiative. Home Horizon serves youth in South Georgian Bay who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness, supporting and empowering them with the resources and skills to transition into adulthood.
