Police investigate Shelburne homicide

Dufferin OPP says the death of an individual in Shelburne has been confirmed to be a homicide.

At 1:17 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, Dufferin OPP was called to a residence on Main Street in the Town of Shelburne to check on the well-being of a person. Officers located a deceased person inside of the residence.

The deceased has been identified as Shelburne resident Debra Neale, age 65.

A post-mortem examination was conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto on Jan 10, when the death was ruled a homicide.

The investigation is continuing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
