Quest for Strother Cup begins Sept. 7

The championship series of the North Dufferin Baseball League begins this weekend between the Bolton Brewers and New Lowell Knights.
The best of seven series, playing on weekends only, starts Saturday with a noon game in Lisle. Game 2 is Sunday in New Lowell at 1 p.m.
The schedule continues Sept. 14 in Bolton, Sept. 15 in New Lowell, Sept. 21 in Bolton, Sept. 22 in New Lowell and Sept. 28 in Bolton. Bolton home games start at 2 p.m. while New Lowell home games begin at 1 p.m.
The Brewers finished the regular season in first place with a 20-5 record and defeated the Creemore Braves and Clearview Orioles en route to the finals.
New Lowell had a 19-5-1 record and ended in third place. They dispatched the Midland Mariners and Ivy Leafs to make the finals.
