Reader observes lax measures at LCBO

On April 7, I was surprised to find the Stayner LCBO had not even the most elementary Covid-19 precautionary measures in place.
It is small but there was no control of the number of people entering the store. There was no hand sanitizer or gloves for customers. No sanitizing the handles of baskets and carts between customers and no masks for the staff. Worst of all there were no glass shields separating the cashier from the customer where the situation required the two to be in close proximity well within the minimal social distancing guidelines.
On the way home I found the Creemore LCBO, an equally small store, to have the same lack of any precautionary measures.
These measures have been in place for some time now in local supermarkets.
I do not understand why a supermarket can have these measures in place but a government agency such as the LCBO has not implemented any protective measures for its staff – a seeming unconcern for the health and safety of its employees and more government bureaucratic lethargy.
