Run for Terry Fox Sept. 15
The annual Terry Fox Run is taking place in Creemore on Sunday, Sept. 15.
The event welcomes runners, cyclists, rollerbladers, strollers, wheelchairs and dogs for a 5-kilometre route (or do it twice for the full 10k).
Since Terry Fox ran his Marathon of Hope in 1980, Canadians have raised over $750 million for cancer research. This money is invested into projects with the greatest potential impact for patients. One such project is called Terry Fox PROFYLE, which focuses on hard to treat cancers for youth. This project, and others like it, use the principles of precision medicine and big data in a collaborative Pan-Canadian approach in an effort to give kids with hard-to-treat cancers another chance.
The event takes place at Creemore’s Station on the Green between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sign up at www.terryfox.ca/terryfoxrun/creemore.
