Scott, David Alan

 In Obituaries

Scott, David Alan. It is with deep sadness that the family of David announces his passing on Thursday June 17, 2021 at the age of 69. Born to Victoria and George Tory Scott, David spent most of his childhood playing in and around the Mad River in Avening, a place he would still visit weekly. Wildly intelligent and impassioned about the environment, David became a town planner where he worked hard to balance proper housing and services while preserving the beautiful Severn ecosystem. Often found in the kitchen, cooking up a storm and singing, he loved to share food with everyone. David was often quick with a joke and giving people a smile gave him joy. The stories he told were beautiful tales of time gone past, blending geography and history to weave a narrative of who once walk the paths we now tread. His good humour and love of community meant he made friends with all he met around town. He was kind and giving and when David cared for you, he took care of you. David will be forever lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years Susan Hanna, and his children, Jacob, Lydia, Nikki(Derek), and Hillary (Lisa), by his sister Sharon (Brian) and his cherished grandchild Onnaleigh. David will also be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A celebration of life will be held in October, details to be announced. Memorial donations can be made to the Susan Hanna Fund at My Friend’s House in Collingwood. To sign David’s Book of Memories, please visit www.caruthersdavidson.com
