{"id":36644,"date":"2024-11-29T10:22:21","date_gmt":"2024-11-29T15:22:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/creemore.com\/?p=36644"},"modified":"2024-11-29T10:22:21","modified_gmt":"2024-11-29T15:22:21","slug":"nvca-solicits-donations-on-giving-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/creemore.com\/v1\/2024\/11\/29\/nvca-solicits-donations-on-giving-tuesday\/","title":{"rendered":"NVCA solicits donations on Giving Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 12\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>On Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA) is accepting donations to help restore local rivers and streams, maintain conservation areas, inspire youth to connect with nature and monitor the health of our local environment.<\/p>\n<p>Funds raised from Giving Tuesday give opportunities for students to connect with nature, help students learn to connect with nature, and allow NVCA\u2019s staff and volunteers to protect and restore local rivers and streams. More resources will be available for trail maintenance, and staff can continue to monitor streams, rivers, wetlands, forests and groundwater so residents can learn about their local environment.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 12\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>\u201cWe have ambitious plans for 2025 to continue the great work our teams have been undertaking,\u201d said Kyra Howes, Director of Conservation Services at NVCA. \u201cNVCA staff are very resourceful and have many years of experience in using donations as leverage to raise even more funding through grants and partnerships. Some programs can generate $4 from every $1 of donation through grants and other funding opportunities!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Donations can be made online through NVCA\u2019s website, by cheque or by visiting NVCA\u2019s administration office. NVCA also welcomes volunteers to help plant trees, and restore rivers and streams, and is actively recruiting volunteers to help promote conservation areas and shape future events and festivals.<\/p>\n<p>Giving Tuesday is the world\u2019s largest generosity movement.
