Russell Garfield Wilkinson passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 4, 2020 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital in his 90th year. Russell, beloved husband of Marion Wilkinson of Creemore Loving father of Marty. Will be forever cherished in the hearts of his grandchildren Kera Watters(Kevin), Stacey Francis (Richard) and Grant Wilkinson (Jessica Crocker) and his great grandchildren Mikayla Watters, Jacob Watters and Benjamin Wilkinson. Russell was an enthusiastic grandfather that always managed to have chocolate and ice cream available. Always took great pride in everything he did, especially the outside appearance of his home. A popular member of the Creemore Curling Club, who also found time to volunteer as a reader at the Creemore and Nottawasaga Public School when he wasn’t playing Santa at the Creemore Santa Claus Parade His sense of humour and winning smile will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him. As per Russell’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service at the Creemore Legion on April 11, 2020 from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Greater Simcoe County in Mr. Wilkinson’s memory.
