Workplace accident claims life of 28-year-old

A worksite accident has claimed the life of Amandeep Singh, 28, of Brampton.

Emergency crews responded to a construction site in Edenvale just before 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 12.

Huronia West OPP received a report of an unresponsive male at a worksite on Highway 26, near Sideroad 12 and 13, in Clearview Township. The initial investigation revealed that a dump truck had tipped over trapping the male underneath.

The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL) and the Federal Department of Labour were notified. The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and OPP Forensic Identification Unit (FIS) are assisting with the investigation.

A Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development spokesperson said five requirements have been issued but could not give specifics because the investigation in ongoing.
