Writer takes issue with lawsuit

 In Letters, Opinion

Editor:
Let me start by saying that I don’t have an ATV, nor do I have an opinion on whether increased use should be permitted.  I do have issue with what Elise Beauregard believes is democratic process.
Clearview council’s democratic process is to allow bylaw changes to be tabled to council where they can be debated, read in open forum three times and then voted upon. This gives ample time for those for, and against, to have their say and provide their input.  Sure, there will be winners and losers, but usually the process ends up with amendments to try to appease the largest contingent possible.
Filing a lawsuit puts the onus on one person to make judgment without a democratic process.  Let’s be clear about what is fair and democratic.
