Volunteers have planned a full day of activities in Creemore July 1 in celebration of Canada 150.

9:30 a.m. – Street hockey on Veteran’s Way in front of the Legion. Participants are invited to register as a team or an individual in the competitive or family division. Cost is $15 per player. Games will be played on Veteranʼs Way, between the Creemore Arena and the Legion, where most Canada Day activities are taking place throughout the day. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Games start at 10:30 a.m. To sign up, or for more information, e-mail Van Severen at edvanseveren@gmail.com.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Creemore Legion Ladies Auxiliary host Canada Day Brunch at the Legion.

1 p.m. – Harold Crawford Memorial Kids Bike Parade from Mill St. Park to Legion followed by 150th Anniversary Parade. Celebrate confederation era dress and transportation. Everyone is welcome to participate.

1 p.m. to 3 p.m. –Ladies barbecue at the Legion, Olde Thyme Games, Three Legged Sack Race, Egg and Spoon Race, Scavenger Hunt, Water Balloon Toss, Lawn Bowling, Ring and Bean Bag Toss, Face Painting. Participants will receive a special 150th Anniversary of Confederation Medal.

150th Anniversary Cake Cutting – Free cake for everyone, no calories because its free.

6 p.m. – Firefighters’ barbecue, west side of the arena.

8 p.m. Singing of O Canada., Lady and Man of the Year presentations.

8:30 p.m. – The Baker Magic Show

Fireworks at dusk!

This year’s fireworks will be the largest ever held in Creemore and the biggest expense, please donate to the boot drive, the collection jars about town or contact Norm Nordstrom at 705-466-6748 to donate.
