Milton McArthur was presented two certificates this month in recognition of his dedication to the sport of curling.

McArthur was honoured for 60 years with the Creemore Curling Club at the year-end banquet on April 8 and was presented a recognition award from the Canadian Curling Association for dedication and outstanding service to the sport of curling, at his Creemore home on April 26.

McArthur joined the Creemore Curling Club in 1955 but he had been curling already for a few years in Collingwood with the Nottawasaga Junior Farmers. Throughout the years he curled in bonspiels as a municipal council member, with the Ontario Simmental Organization and the Ontario Belgian Horse Association.

McArthur said he is thinking that he may now be retiring from curling but isn’t quite sure what he will decide come fall.

He said he has loved the sport, both the play and the social aspect.

“I have met a lot of different people over the years,” said McArthur.
