Election campaign rhetoric, mere puffery

 In Letters, Opinion

Editor:

Several years ago a certain Prime Minister failed to deliver on any of his election promises.  To redress this failure, a group of Public Servants (myself included) sought legal advice to determine if we could launch a class action lawsuit for “breach of promise”.

The answer: “In a court of law, all promises made during an election campaign are considered mere puffery!”

Lots of promises were made in this recent election campaign.  Well, we know the old saying, “The proof of the pudding is in the eating!” We’ll see.
