Clearview really needs to stop the spending insanity
Editor:
After reading that Clearview council congratulated themselves on only a two per cent tax increase, in reality it’s 4.18 per cent! Three times the rate of inflation yet again!
With the Wynnesanity at the provincial level making up to 600,000 households make a hard decision between paying their hydro bill or buying food, now the municipal level is piling on the same taxpayers. Councillor Elwood at one point asked at a council meeting… how many Clearview households were behind or in default on their taxes? No reply…hmmm.
So spending $50,000 on new signage is just a colossal waste of money. Doing quick math on sign costs we’ll end up getting only 10 large ones or up to 20 small ones?
Considering they should be placed at all major entries to every town/village in Clearview, it’ll be more than that.
For example, Springwater Township which has the exact same design, has three large ones within 100 metres of each other in Edenvale! So… $15,000 for a hamlet of eight houses is the benchmark for this spending boondoggle here?
Clearview really needs to stop the spending insanity.
