Leitch’s absence from parade hits a nerve

 In Letters, Opinion

Editor:

Your Dec. 9 editorial hit a nerve.

As MP Kellie Leitch looked out her front door, she could see the people of Creemore assemble for their annual Santa Claus parade a scant two miles away.

Being parachuted into this riding after the Helena Guergis disaster, she really has no obligation to any of us locals other than she needs our vote.

With inborn arrogance typical of the ten-percenters (“call me doctor”), she turned her back on Creemore and joined the party given by Jim Wilson, MPP.

A glass of sherry took preference over the people of her home base. It was simply a come-and-go all afternoon which MPP Jim Wilson gives every year.

Now, my excuse for never voting for her again… I’m searching for a glass of sherry.

John Blohm,

Creemore.
