Forgotten soldier forgotten once more

 In Letters, Opinion

Editor:

In the last edition of The Creemore Echo, the article “Book tells stories of local fallen soldiers” was very well reported. The last entry in that book “Book of Remembrance” is about Henry Osborne. The entry is titled “A Forgotten Soldier.” But alas, Henry has been forgotten again in the list of soldiers in the article.

Henry Osborne was from Dunedin. His father was the son of an early Dunedin pioneer and his mother grew up in Creemore. Her family arrived in Creemore in the 1860s.

A big thank you to June Reed and David Johnston for all their efforts and to the Legion for promising to keep the book readily available for reading.

Helen Blackburn,

Creemore.
